Special considerations for two sided banners
Two sided banners are seen occasionally. They are not used as often as you would expect. They are so good at grabbing attention you would expect to see more. Especially since they can be seen from both sides, you get double the advertising! The reason that they are not seen more often, it seems, is because there are not many sign companies who create custom two sided . We are not sure why this choice is made by others. However, we gladly print two sided banners for our clients.
What materials are used in two sided banners?
When you purchase a two sided banner you want to be able to easily read both sides. Otherwise what would be the point? The material used to create a two sided banner that is readable is a 16 ounce blockout vinyl material. Standard banner material material is “translucent”. In other words, you can see the light right through it. So if you put letters on both sides of standard banner material, a faint ghost image of the letters are visible on the other side of the banner. This ghosting effect can distract you’re your message and doesn’t look professional. By using the blockout vinyl you no longer have this problem.
How is a two sided banner made?
The design that you have chosen for your is printed on two pieces of vinyl. The two pieces are then sewn together to create an extra strong, durable banner. The banner can be easily read from either side and will last for a number of years, even outside. For maximum durability and wind resistance, double-sided vinyl banners should have hems and grommets placed every 30”.
Maintaining your two sided banner
Maintaining your two sided banner is quite simple. If you should need to store your banner, please be sure to never fold it. This will leave creases in the vinyl that may never come out. You should always roll a vinyl banner, whether it is two sided or single sided. This keeps the material from creasing and prevents cracking or creasing of the design. You should not store a two sided banner in a place that may allow mold or mildew to grow on the vinyl. This could leave marks on the vinyl that cannot be removed. The best place to store a banner is in a dry area that maintains a constant, comfortable temperature.
If you need to wash your two sided banner,we recommend using a mild soap (like dish soap) in warm water. Clean as needed and your two sided banner will last and last.
